After School Care

After School Care

A club experience for students in Toddler–Grade 6, After School Care serves as a place to foster out-of-classroom friendships, provide time for homework and independent projects, and encourage new interests.

To allow families greater flexibility, After School Care enrollment is offered by day of the week. Sign up for just one day or all five days, depending on your schedule and needs for the trimester. Primary registration occurs in the fall, with the option to make adjustments each following trimester.

Students are supervised between the end of the school day (2:45 p.m.) and the start of After School programs (3:00 p.m.)—no gap in coverage! Prices vary by day due to school holidays and early release days. If your child needs care either before or after their Enrichment Classes, you must enroll in regular After School Care (at a discounted rate). After School Care is not required for Enrichment Classes beginning at 3:00 or 3:15 p.m.

Toddler Club considers the individual needs of each child and works in partnership with the child's teachers to provide continuity of care. We aim to create a warm, joyful, caring environment that is rooted in Montessori practices, while also bringing in elements of a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, play-based learning, and process art. After School teachers aim to be a bridge between the children’s school and home life, and work in partnership with our students’ families to support development through weekly updates and photo sharing, check-ins and support when needed, and resource sharing. We also aim to support the children in having a fun environment to build meaningful friendships across classrooms that they will stay with them throughout their years at Kingsley.

Friendship Club supports creative learning through investigation, exploration, and positive social interactions. Designed as an extension to the regular school day, our P3 through Kindergarten friends come together from 3:00–5:30 p.m. for guided activities, snack time, free choice, and community-building playtime. This program is offered in both our Fairfield and Exeter buildings to accommodate our P3-K friends across both campuses.

After School Club enhances social and emotional development through community-building games, service learning projects, and cooperative play. From 3:00–5:30 p.m. each day, we encourage our Exeter students to extend learning in new and innovative ways outside of their regular classroom and strive to promote social skills, creative expression, and fun!

As an extension of the Upper Elementary school day, Homework Club offers daily homework help in a supportive environment. An Assistant Teacher supervises the students and is available for guidance and to answer questions. This option is available for students in Grades 4–6 from 3:00–4:30 p.m. If your child needs care 4:30–5:30 p.m., please enroll them in Homework Club Plus.

Wind down the day at Kingsley and enjoy extra playtime with friends and the After School staff.

Note: Registration is open to students in grades 1-6 ONLY and is offered in trimester-blocks only (versus individual days of the week). Space is limited!
